English

Answer:

B) would be the answer. (Still not 100% sure but hopefully this is correct AND it helps!)

Explanation:

A) The passage has NOTHING about persuading the readers to vote for Jack Snow. The passage just tells info about Jack Snow (and his opponent!)

C) would also not be correct (although it does seem correct!) since that wasn't necessarily the authors purpose. The whole passage (except the end) is about Jack Snow and Tom Oaks, their slogans, their background etc, and only at the end the authors asks the reader to vote. If the purpose of the author was to convince the reader to vote, the author would've mentioned it more in the passage.

What is the value in learning the historical context, biography, and analysis of writers’ works in a classroom setting?
zhuklara [117]

Answer:

It can help to add context for the work. For example, if the writer was from Victorian England, their etiquette might be very different to what the reader knows. So a scene in which a characters is being very rude might not come off as important to a reader unless they knew it was rude in the author's perspective when writing possibly. It also adds context to what the writer may write about and how they write it. For example if the author's background was heavily conservative, that might explain why certain characters are portrayed certain ways, like homosexuals being the villains often rather than a hero or friend of the hero or something.
