Describe difference between dehydration reaction and hydrolysis. How do these reactions relate to macromolecules?
NemiM [27]

Answer:

Dehydration reaction includes removal of water molecule from compounds to facilitate formation of bonds between them while hydrolysis reactions break the compounds by breaking the bonds.

Dehydration reactions form the complex macromolecules while hydrolysis reactions break them down into the simpler elements.

Explanation:

During dehydration reactions, removal of a water molecule from two compounds leads to the formation of a covalent bond between them. These reactions are mainly part of anabolic pathways. Two amino acids are joined together by peptide bond and a water molecule is released during the reaction.

Hydrolysis reactions are the opposite of dehydration reactions and are involved in catabolic pathways of macromolecules. The peptide bonds between amino acids are broken down by hydrolysis.

Which events take place in the light-dependent reactions of photosynthesis?
borishaifa [10]

The correct answer is : Light energy is captured by plants; light energy is converted to chemical energy.

In the process of photosynthesis, special pigment molecule called chlorophyll can capture the energy of the light, more specifically the photon. When a particle of light (a photon) with a specific energy reaches this pigment in the leaves of plants, the energy is transferred from the particle to the molecule, and the molecule becomes excited. This is the phase where the energy of the light is captured and transformed into chemical energy that can later be used to make sugars.

All of the later chemical processes that transfer the energy from the excited chlorophyll to the sugar molecules are not dependent on the light and can happen during the night as well.

Which form successively larger vessels that carry blood toward the heart?
victus00 [196]

Answer:

Veins.

Explanation:

Heart is the main organs of circulatory system that transport blood in the body.Human heart is four chambered and separates the oxygenated and deoxygenated blood in the body.

Arteries are responsible for the passage of blood from heart to the body parts. The deoxygenated blood from the body collect in the veins and transfer to heart. Arteries has high pressure than veins and veins are thinner than artery.

Thus, the answer is veins.
