Find the equation (in terms of x) of the line through the points (-2,3) and (4,-9) y =

Answer:  y = -2x - 1

Step-by-step explanation:

We can calculate the slope from the two given points.  Slope is the change in y per the change in x, sometimes called the rise (y) over the run (x)

Rise is (-9 -3) = -12

Run is (4 - (-2)) = 6

Slope = Rise/Run = -12/6 = -2

The line is y = -2x + b

Find b by using either of the two known points (solutions).  I'll choose (-2,3) [because I like smaller numbers]

y = -2x + b

3 = -2*(-2) + b

b = -1  [That was only slightly easier than -9 = -2*(4) + b; b = -1]

The equation is y = -2x - 1

Answer:

y =5

Step-by-step explanation:

m=

−9−7

5−5

=

−16

0

=0

y=mx+b

5=(0)(7)+b

b=5

therefore y = 5

A six-sided die is rolled three times. what is the probability that all three rolls will be 6?
PSYCHO15rus [73]

you have a 1/6 probability of rolling a 6

 so for 3 6's it would be
