Hey there!

9x - 3 = 7(x + 3) + 2n

➡️ 9x - 3 = 7(x) + 7(3) + 2n

➡️ 9x - 3 = 7x + 21 + 2n

ADD -7x to BOTH SIDES

2n + 7x + 21 + (-7x) = 9x - 3 + (-7x)

SIMPLIFY IT!

2n + 21 = 2x - 3

ADD -21 to BOTH SIDES

2n + 21 + (-21) = 2x - 3 + (-21)

SIMPLIFY THIS AS WELL!

2n = 2x - 24

DIVIDE 2 to BOTH SIDES

2n/2 = (2x - 24)/2

FINALLY SIMPLIFY THIS LAST STEP!

n = x - 12

Answer: n = x - 12

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!

An algebra class normally has y students, but today it is just 2/3 full. Express the number of students in class today terms of
sertanlavr [38]

Answer:

2/3y

Step-by-step explanation:

If the class usually has y students and has 2/3 today, it can be represented by 2/3y.

Since multiplying a number or variable by 2/3 makes it 2/3 of the amount, 2/3y will represent the people in the class.

So, in terms of y, 2/3y represents the number of students in class today.

baherus [9]

Answer:

The distance traveled between 10 minutes and 15 minutes is increasing.

Step-by-step explanation:

Jacob is going on a road trip across the country. He covers 10 miles in 15 minutes.

Therefore, between the 10 minutes and 15 minutes, Jacob was in motion and if he covers 10 miles in 15 minutes with a constant speed, then Jacob will cover \frac{10}{15} \times (15 - 10) = 3.33 miles in that period.

So, the distance traveled between 10 minutes and 15 minutes is increasing.

Help! This is due today and I'm stuck on this problem.
Varvara68 [4.7K]

Answer:

280.6 m^2

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>find the length of each side:</u>

you're only given h = 9 m

the formula for h is  h=\frac{\sqrt{3} }{2} *a, where a is a side length of the hexagon

plug h in:

9=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}*a\\\\a=9*\frac{2}{\sqrt{3}}\\\\

a ≈ 10.392 m

<u>now find the area of a triangle:</u>

1/2 (10.392)(9) = 46.764 m^2

multiply that by 6 and you get 280.584 ≈ 280.6 m^2

you can also use the regular hexagon area formula instead of finding the individual area and multiplying by 6: \frac{3\sqrt{3} }{2} *a^2
