Assume you have to explain to your sister's eighth-grade class the difference between a prosecutor's work and

Law

Hello! For eighth-graders, I would say the following is the best option to provide. Prosecutors press charges only when they believe a crime is committed, defense lawyers defend clients whether they believe they are guilty or not.

Knowing that public defenders will protect someone whether or not they think the subject is guilty may intrigue the kids. It shows an unwavering power to defend the public, even if their mind says otherwise.

I hope I've helped! :)

How might race, class, and gender differences in offending be explained by criminological theory?
NikAS [45]

Answer:

Simple!! Profiling!

Explanation:

Tons say that felons are discriminated and profiled negatively based on their race, class, gender, AND appearance. If law enforcement were to see someone with tattoos, that person has a chance of being criminally profiled in a negative way. It's the same for if you see a southern, black, hispanic, or Arabic felon. Yes, I have to say, they are interrogated fairly, but I would say law enforcement is stereotypical of the people in which they arrest. You're welcome!
