Answer:

To protect their claims, the French built a series of forts from Lake Erie south along the Ohio River. The British wanted to capture the forts and force the French to leave.

Explanation:

The French and Indian War from 1754-1763 was a conflict between Great Britain and France over their territorial possessions in North America. Both countries wanted to reap economic benefits of the profitable fur trading and were willing to fight for control of North America. Under Choiseul's plan, Britain would gain all French territory east of the Mississippi, while Spain would retain Cuba in exchange for handing Florida over to Great Britain. French territories west of the Mississippi would become Spanish, along with the port of New Orleans.

Which of the following was NOT a reason for United States expansion between 1880 and 1914?
Novosadov [1.4K]

Letter A is correct. Many are the reasons that led to the United States expansion, but the desire to extend Christianity was not one of them. The U.S expanded westward across North America, initially as part of 'Manifest Destiny', but also as an outlet for their growing population. They also wanted an overseas empire like the other major western powers at the time (such as Britain and France). And, that included new markets and sources of revenue along with a more proeminent position on the world stage.

How many people died from not following the KAPU system?
Anon25 [30]

Answer:

Kapus were strictly enforced. Breaking one, even unintentionally, often meant immediate death,[1] Koʻo kapu. The concept is related to taboo and the tapu or tabu found in other Polynesian cultures. The Hawaiian word kapu is usually translated to English as "forbidden", though it also carries the meanings of "keep out", "no trespassing", "sacred", "consecrated", or "holy".

The opposite of kapu is noa, meaning "common" or "free".
