Why shouldn´t people be afraid to love themselves at all
Vlad1618 [11]

Answer:1. Real love makes us feel vulnerable. A new relationship is uncharted territory, and most of us have natural fears of the unknown. Letting ourselves fall in love means taking a real risk. We are placing a great amount of trust in another person, allowing them to affect us, which makes us feel exposed and vulnerable. Our core defenses are challenged. Any habits we’ve long had that allow us to feel self-focused or self-contained start to fall by the wayside. We tend to believe that the more we care, the more we can get hurt.

2. New love stirs up past hurts. When we enter into a relationship, we are rarely fully aware of how we’ve been impacted by our history. The ways we were hurt in previous relationships, starting from our childhood, have a strong influence on how we perceive the people we get close to as well as how we act in our romantic relationships. Old, negative dynamics may make us wary of opening ourselves up to someone new. We may steer away from intimacy, because it stirs up old feelings of hurt, loss, anger or rejection. As Dr. Pat Love said in an interview with PsychAlive, “when you long for something, like love, it becomes associated with pain,” the pain you felt at not having it in the past.

3. Love challenges an old identity. Many of us struggle with underlying feelings of being unlovable. We have trouble feeling our own value and believing anyone could really care for us. We all have a “critical inner voice,” which acts like a cruel coach inside our heads that tells us we are worthless or undeserving of happiness. This coach is shaped from painful childhood experiences and critical attitudes we were exposed to early in life as well as feelings our parents had about themselves.

While these attitudes can be hurtful, over time, they have become engrained in us. As adults, we may fail to see them as an enemy, instead accepting their destructive point of view as our own. These critical thoughts or “inner voices” are often harmful and unpleasant, but they’re also comfortable in their familiarity. When another person sees us differently from our voices, loving and appreciating us, we may actually start to feel uncomfortable and defensive, as it challenges these long-held points of identification.

4. With real joy comes real pain. Any time we fully experience true joy or feel the preciousness of life on an emotional level, we can expect to feel a great amount of sadness. Many of us shy away from the things that would make us happiest, because they also make us feel pain. The opposite is also true. We cannot selectively numb ourselves to sadness without numbing ourselves to joy. When it comes to falling in love, we may be hesitant to go “all in,” for fear of the sadness it would stir up in us.

A company ordered $400 worth of muffins. Bran muffins cost $2 each and blueberry muffins cost $4 each. If the company ordered tw
astra-53 [7]

Answer:

40 Bran Muffins

80 Blueberry Muffins

Explanation:

Let the number of Bran muffins ordered = x

The number of Blueberry muffins ordered = 2x (it is given that the number of blueberry muffins is twice the number of bran muffins)

The cost of Bran muffins ordered = Number of Bran muffins * cost of 1 muffin

Cost of Bran muffins ordered = x * 2

Cost of Bran Muffins ordered = $ 2x

The cost of Blueberry muffins ordered = Number of Blueberry muffins * Cost of 1 blueberry muffin

Cost of Blueberry muffins ordered = 2x * 4

Cost of Blueberry muffins ordered = $ 8x

Since the sum of costs of Blueberry and Bran muffins is $400

Cost of Bran muffins + Cost of Blueberry muffins ordered = 400

2x + 8x = 400

10x = 400

x = 40

Hence, the number of Bran muffins ordered is 40

we are told that the number of Blueberry muffins is twice the number of Bran muffins

So,

Blueberry muffins = Bran muffins * 2

Blueberry Muffins = 40 * 2

Blueberry muffins = 80

So, the number of Blueberry muffins is 80

A manufacturer of potato chips would like to know whether its bag filling machine works correctly at the 426 gram setting. Based
Blababa [14]

The conclusion of the research is that we reject the null hypothesis and we conclude that the bag filling machine does not work correctly at the 426 gram setting.

How to solve hypothesis testing?

We are given;

Population Mean; μ = 426

Sample mean; x' = 433

Sample size; n = 13

Standard deviation; s = 29

significance level; α = 0.05

Let us define the hypotheses;

Null Hypothesis; H₀: μ = 426 g

Alternative Hypothesis; H_a: μ < 426 g

Formula for the z-score here is;

z = (x' - μ)/(s/√n)

z = (433 - 426)/(29/√13)

z = 0.87

From online p-value from z-score calculator, we have;

p-value = 0.1922

This p-value is greater than the significance value and as such we reject the null hypothesis and we conclude that the bag filling machine does not work correctly at the 426 gram setting.

"if this month is september, then next month ends in the letter r." determine the validity of the converse and give a counterexa
tresset_1 [31]

"If this month is September, then next month ends in the letter r." This is a valid converse statement.

The converse of a conditional statement is made once the hypothesis and conclusion are reversed. Likewise, the converse statement, “If the grass is wet, then it's raining” is logically such as the inverse statement, “If it's NOT descending, then the grass isn't wet.” These relationships are significantly useful in mathematics courses once you are asked to prove theorems supported definitions that are already best-known.

This converse statement is valid as after the month of September, the month of October comes and it ends with letter 'r'.
