The story is about Mallam Sile, a blind tea seller who went abroad in search of money to help his parents, but while he was doing that, his parents died. He didn't go to the funeral, but continued saving money. Everybody took advantage of him at his work, because he was blind, but he kept treating everyone with respect nevertheless. He is a romantic, sings songs about finding true love. He manages to save enough money to come back home and open a tea shop. He married, and his wife took great care of him, even beating a guy who didn't want to pay him his debt. After that incident, people started respecting him, and he thanked Allah for the good life he had, as well as a great wife.
It's B, because the deceiption is that in other stories, dragons are evil & knights are peaceful. But instead this story is different from others.
Three contradictions were present in Maupassant's "A Wedding Gift". First is found in the first stanza which stated that Jacques Bourdilliere had sworn never to marry. This vow was suddenly broken when he saw Berthe. The two married too soon.
Second is when the story spoke of the binding attachment that was broken between Jacques and his former lover. A binding attachment is not supposed to be broken, from the phrase itself.
Third contradiction is the title of the story. The child was a wedding gift for the newly-wed couple brought by the tragedy of Jacques' former lover. A tragedy is unusual to be interpreted as a gift, especially at a wedding.
