Answer:

We were about to get our test back, I was filled with so much anxiety I knew I failed. There was Jared, who looked up with a smirk. The smartest kid in the class he always got the best grade and today would be no different. "Why the frown (your name or characters name)" Jared let out with a laugh. "I know I failed but you look cheerful as ever" I exchanged back. "Well of course it's another A+ in my gradebook" Jared said. Ms (a teacher you had) started handing out the test. She was getting closer and closer. I was squirming so hard until finally I froze, she was right in front of me, slowly she handed me the test back. When I had it I put it down on my desk while Ms (your teacher) went to Jared behind me. I slowly turned the paper and sat there aghast. A+ written in a big red pen, I squealed with excitement at the same time I heard something fall behind me. I turned around to see Jared on the floor, I looked on his paper. I saw "F", he had fainted because he had failed. He was so confident only to be shocked by the result. I turned back around and smirked thinking how I would tell Jared I got an A+.

Which persuasive appeal is being used in the following lines?
tamaranim1 [39]

The persuasive appeal used in the lines given above is REASON.

According to Aristotle, there are three types of persuasive appeal, these are: appeal to reason, appeal to one's character and appeal to emotions. Appeal to reason is a form of rhetorical approach, in which a speaker made an argument by giving or presenting facts that lead the audience to reach the kind of conclusion that the speaker desire. In the question given above, the speaker was appealing to the reason of his audience, leading them to reach the conclusion that the refusal of the kingly crown does not signify a reasonable and ambitious attitude.
