I need a essay about less gun control and the second amendment
MrRissso [65]

Answer:

Why should there be less gun control? Well, statistically speaking, states with less gun control have a lower gun voilence rate. Two of the state with the highest amount of gun voilence are California and New York, which have some of the strictest gun policies in the United States. States like Arizona and Texas however, two of the least strict gun control states have some of the lowest numbers in the US. The reason for this being, making something illegal for citizens to own serves almost no purpose because criminals will end up getting their guns illegally. All it does is take away a citizen's defense against criminals who ignore the gun control laws. Another example of this is Mexico. Mexico is almost tied with New York and California in gun related deaths per 100,000 people and they too, have outlawed guns. This is why we must respect the second amendment and allow citizens the ability to protect themselves against non-law obeying criminals.

“You don’t seem to be a success as a story-teller,” said the bachelor suddenly from his corner.
Novosadov [1.4K]

Answer:

It is unexpected that the bachelor becomes involved with the family and storytelling.

Explanation:

"The storyteller" is a short story by H. H. Munro, known as Saki.

The story revolves around three curious children constantly asking their aunt numerous question while travelling in a railway carriage. In order to keep them quiet, she decides to tell them a story, only to be confronted by an unknown man, a stranger, riding the carriage with them, about her obvious lack of story-telling skill. The stranger then proceeds to tell them his version of the aunt's story.

Since the man was a complete stranger, we could say it was rather unexpected of him to become involved with the storytelling so suddenly.

In at least 150 words, describe Socrates' philosophical method, how it works, and what type of knowledge is attained
MAVERICK [17]

Answer: The Elenchus

Explanation: Socrates' method of philosophy is most commonly known as The Elenchus or the dialectical method. Knowledge gained from this method was considered by Aristotle to be 'dialectical knowledge'. Dialectical knowledge was said to form the boundary between the theoretical and the practical aspects of knowledge.

The method of the Elenchus was (and still is, I assume), the following:

1. Raise the most important question (a kind of 'theory' or later 'thesis').

2. Investigate the question thoroughly to make sure that the very best answer is reached, by raising further questions, answering each of them ("they being smaller questions, it will be easier to answer them" --- paraphrasing Plato)

3. At the conclusion of the inquiry, to declare if the problem is solved, and if so, in what way of definition.

4. To continue philosophizing.

However, in Athens, Socrates' particular application of the Elenchus earned him the reputation of a 'gadfly' --- someone who perhaps didn't have the best good in mind (although, according to Plato, Socrates was always a helpful person, and didn't ask for any payments).
