Lincoln called him a glorified clerk6. defeated Pope at the 2nd Battle of Bull Run - Jackson and Lee; Pope met adn attacked Jackson's forces. When Lee's men arrived, Pope had to retreat7. Bloodiest single day battle - Antietam; it was also one of the earlier battles. It showed that the war was not going to be over quickly.
