This right limits the power of government because it sets a pathway to make things, they can´t come and take your propety, they can´t put you in jail if they don´t like you, <em>it limits it´s power by giving the people the liberty to do.</em>
Columbus was originally going to sail along the West African coast and around the Cape of Good Hope. But than Columbus had the idea of instead to sail west across the Atlantic instead of around the gigantic African continent.
Gasden Purchase--the strip of land purchased from Mexico in 1853 was negotiated by James Gasden.
The US wanted this strip of land to complete the southern branch of the Transcontinental Railroad. Gasden was the minister to Mexico and sent to negotiate the purchase of the land as well as create a final border agreement with Mexican president, Santa Anna. The land was purchased for $10 million and settled the US-Mexico border.
