What happened in Poland in 1989?
kondaur [170]

1989 was a year when Poland finally became a democratic, independent country. Soviet communism has fallen thanks to the negotiations between the communists and their opposition in Poland. In effect it was possible to make the first free election of the president at the end of 1990 (Lech Walesa was elected). Workers had a free right to form unions, but in the following years their significance and effectiveness decreased.

Officially the situation hasn't changed up to date, but most Polish people know that in spite of changing the political system, most of the pre-1989 politics are still in power, but it's not official. However many of their decisions are clearly showing that there's no place for fair democracy in Poland.

Which letter did you choose? (Provide the to/ from / date / place data if available). What aspect of the letter particularly cau
Usimov [2.4K]

I would choose the letter "from".

Answer: Option B

Explanation:

I select the letter 'from' John Redfield to his “Brothers and Sisters” in Harper's Ferry on October 14, 1862. This letter caught my attention instantly because he's talking about the killing of their captain, which then made him have to stand up and defend for long hours.

I was also more attentive in the fact that "It seems very difficult to be a soldier," then he says "but after all I have to be one," as if he wasn't very pleased to be fighting, so he might have been there because he was enlisted and failed to pay the $300 to stop catering.

I feel that during those days it was very rigid and inequitable that wealthy people didn't have to fight, but they made those who couldn't pay the debt go to war. For those who were forced to give their lives for those who were seen as "strong in life and wealth," I feel very sad and heartbroken.
