Relationship A has a rate (slope) of 8

and if B has a greater rate, then it would have to be more then 8....so the equation for B is : y = 12x...because the rate (slope) here is 12

Answer:

The answer to your question is:

Perimeter = 26.5 units

Area = 22.5 units²

Step-by-step explanation:

Data

A (5, 9)

B (8, 0)

C (0, 9)

Formula

d = \sqrt{(x2 - x1)^{2} + (y2 - y1)^{2} }

dAB = \sqrt{(8 - 5)^{2} + (0 - 9)^{2} }

dAB = \sqrt{3^{2} + 9^{2} }

dAB = \sqrt{90}

dBC = \sqrt{(0 - 8)^{2} + (9 - 0)^{2} }

dBC = \sqrt{8^{2} + 9^{2} }

dBC = \sqrt{145}

dAC = \sqrt{(0 - 5)^{2} + (9 - 9)^{2} }

dAC = \sqrt{5^{2} + 0^{2} } \\

dAC = \sqrt{25} = 5

Perimeter = \sqrt{90} + \sqrt{145} + 5

Perimeter = 26.5 units

Area = 1/2  [ ( 5x0) + (8x9) + (0 x 9) - (5x 9) - (0x 0) - (8x9)]

        = 1/2 [ 0 + 72 + 0 - 45 - 0 - 72]

        = 1/2 [-45]

        = 45/2

        = 22.5 units²

4 times (12-8) + 2^3. (2 to the 3rd power)
brilliants [131]

Answer:

It's 48. Heres why:

Step-by-step explanation:

Our equation, I believe, is 4[(12-8) + 2³]. We can do the operations in the parenthesis:

4[(4)+8] (12-8 = 4, and 2³ is 8). If we add 4 + 8, we get 12. Multiply 12 by 4, we get 48.

PLS HELP I NEED THE EQUATION
rjkz [21]

Hello and Good Morning/Afternoon:

<u>Let's take this problem step-by-step</u>:

<u>Let's write in the point-slope form</u>:

 (y-y_0)=m(x-x_0)

  • (x₀,y₀) --> any random point on the line
  • m: slope

<u>Let's find the slope</u>:

 Slope=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

  • (x₁,y₁) ==> a random point on the line                    ⇒  (1, -1)
  • (x₂,y₂) ==> a random point on the line not (x₁,y₁)   ⇒  (4, 8)

        ⇒ Slope=\frac{8--1}{4-1}=\frac{9}{3}=3

<u>Let's gather what we know:</u>

  •  (x₀,y₀) = (1,-1)
  • m: 3

   Equation: (y-y_0)=m(x-x_0)\\y+1=3(x-1)

<u>The equation could also be written in slope-intercept form:</u>

 ⇒ simply isolate y on one side

  y+1=3(x-1)\\y=3x-3-1\\y=3x-4

<u />

<u>Answer:</u>

  • <u>Point-slope form: y + 1 =3(x - 1)</u>
  • <u>Slope-intercept form: y= 3x - 4</u>

  *Either answer works, just put the one that you are most familiar with

Hope that helps!
