The weight of people in a small town in Missouri is known to be normally distributed with a mean of 162 pounds and a standard de

viation of 28 pounds. On a raft that takes people across the river, a sign states, “Maximum capacity 3,401 pounds or 19 persons.” What is the probability that a random sample of 19 persons will exceed the weight limit of 3,401 pounds?

Using the normal distribution relation, the probability that sample will exceed the weight limit is 0.004

Using the relation ::

  • Zscore =(X - μ) ÷ σ

The mean, μ = np = (162 × 19) = 3078

The standard deviation, σ = 28 × √19 = 122.049

The Zscore :

Zscore = (3401 - 3078) ÷ (122.049)

Zscore = 2.65

Hence,

P(Z > 2.65) = 1 - P(Z < 2.65)

Using a normal distribution table :

P(Z > 2.65) = 1 - 0.9959

P(Z > 2.65) = 0.004

Greg runs 3 miles in 28 minutes. At the same rate, how many miles would he run in 42 minutes?
Paladinen [302]

Answer:

4.5

miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Well, he runs

3

miles in

28

minutes. Also, see that

42

=

28

⋅

1.5

.

So, his journey would just be running

1.5

times, with each time running

28

minutes.

So, he runs a total of

1.5

⋅

3

=

4.5

miles

Find 3x2 − y3 − y3 − z if x = 3, y = −2, and z = −5.
IceJOKER [234]
3x²-y³ - y³ - z if x = 3, y = -2, z = -5

Simply plug in all the values :)

3(3²) - (-2³) - (-2³) - (-5)

Simplify.

3(9) + 2³ + 2³ + 5

Simplify.

27 + 8 + 8 + 5

Simplify.

35 + 13

Simplify.

In your own words, explain how to find the incenter and the circumcenter of a triangle and what the Circumcenter Theorem and Inc
LekaFEV [45]

Circumcenter is where three perpendicular bisectors intersect and incenter is where the three angle bisectors intersect.

Way to find them and the theorems are mentioned below.

Step-by-step explanation:

To find Incenter :

Construct angle bisectors of each angle of the triangle and their intersection point gives the incenter.

To find Circumcenter:

Construct perpendicular bisectors of all sides of triangle and their intersection point gives the circumcenter.

Circumcenter Theorem: It states that the vertices of a triangle are equidistant from the circumcenter.

Incenter Theorem: It states that the incenter is equidistant from the sides of the triangle.

What is the measure of angle B?
Andre45 [30]

60 degrees, because it's an equilateral triangle, as you can tell because the sides are all the same length.
