How can you determine whether a function is odd or even from the formula of the function?

Mathematics

F(x) = f(-x) is even, and f(-x)=-f(x) is odd. to know if it's even or odd you take the function and plug in -x for x then simplify it. if it's the same function that you started with , it's even. for example
if you have this
f(x) = -3x^2+4
plug in -x for x which will turn out to be
f(-x) = -3(-x)^2+4
and when simplified it'll be
-3x^2+4 because (-x)^2 is (-x)(-x) which is a positive.
because it's the same, it's an even one.

Help plea i am beg screenshot in
stiv31 [10]

Answer:

SA = 105 in^2

Step-by-step explanation:

To find surface area, find the area of all the shapes and add it all together. This shape has 4 triangle faces. They are all the same. So we can find one of them and times by 4.

Area of a triangle:

A = 1/2b•h

= 1/2• 5 • 8

= 1/2 • 40

= 20

One triangle has area 20, so times by 4 (bc four triangles)

4•20

= 80

Area of square 5•5

= 25

Add the areas:

80 + 25

= 105 sq in

Nikitich [7]

Answer: 243, 729

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

1, 3, 9, 27, 81    is a geometric sequence where r = 3

a₁ = 1

a₂ = 1 x 3 = 3

a₃ = 3 x 3 = 9

a₄ = 9 x 3 = 27

a₅ = 27 x 3 = 81

To find the next two terms, multiply the previous term by 3:

a₆ = 81 x 3 = 243

a₇ = 243 x 3 = 729

*PLEASE ANSWER, MAKE SURE YOU ANSWER CORRECTLY* What dimensions would you need to measure the volume of the following prism?
Digiron [165]

Answer:

base of the triangle, height of the triangle, height of the prism.

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for calculating the volume of the right triangle prism above is given as base area * height of prism.

The base is a right triangle. Area of the right triangular base = ½*base*height of the triangle.

Therefore, the dimensions needed to find the volume of the prism are: "base of the triangle, height of the triangle, and height of the prism.
