Theories and laws are parts of the scientific processes of solving problems. The difference between a  theory and law is that;

  • D. A law is absolute and describes what is  happening, but a theory is trying to explain why.

In the process of explaining why certain phenomena occur the way they do, scientists formulate theories to provide explanations.

Laws, however, have undergone all the stages needed to prove them. Therefore, they are absolute.

So, while a law is absolute, theories explain why.
