Answer:

"If it be aught toward the general good,

Set honor in one eye and death i' th' other

And I will look on both indifferently;

For let the gods so speed me as I love

The name of honor more than I fear death" (1.2.92-96).

Spoken By: Brutus

Spoken To: Cassius

Meaning:

"If it's for the good of all Romans, I'd do it even if it meant my death. Let the gods give me good luck only as long as I love honor more than I fear death."

Significance:

Brutus admits that, above all else, he loves Rome. He loves Rome more than Caesar and more than his own life. Cassius, upon hearing this information, is able to push Brutus towards killing Caesar by emphasizing that the assassination would be for the betterment of Rome.

"Till then, my noble friend, chew upon this:

Brutus had rather be a villager

Than to repute himself a son of Rome

Under these hard conditions as this time

Is like to lay upon us" (1.2.180-184).

Spoken By: Brutus

Spoken To: Cassius

Meaning:

"Until then, my noble friend, think about this: I'd rather be a poor villager than call myself a citizen of Rome under the hard conditions that this time is likely to put us through."

Significance:

Riding off of the first quote, Cassius is now using Brutus' love of Rome to plant seeds of dissent in Brutus' mind over whether Caesar will lead Rome to triumph or destruction.

Answer:

C. Brutus was overcome with himself, and so would not honor any of his friends.

For Brutus only overcame himself, And no man else hath honor by his death. Free from the bondage you are in, Messala. The conquerors can only make a fire of him, because only Brutus triumphed over himself, and no other man gets to triumph in his death.

Bond [772]

The central topic in this scene is clothing. When King Duncan grants Macbeth with thane of Cawdor, Macbeth refers to this title as "borrowed robes" because thane is alive and he doesn't want to wear the old man's clothing. Clothing is a symbolism for rank here representing the status in a community, in this scene in a royal one. Macbeth doesn't want the rank while the holder is still alive.

"Sacrifice is a virtue to be valued" as it relates to "Gift of the Magi."
MariettaO [177]
Sacrifice is a virtue to be valued because it is one way of expressing deep love to your loved ones. You would rather suffer a bit of self-disappointment to make your loved ones happy.

In the story "Gift of the Magi", Della sacrificed her hair to buy her husband a platinum fob chain for his watch, as her Christmas gift to him. Unknown to her, James sold off his watch, to buy her a set of combs she has been lusting for so long.

Both items were of great value to each of them, but they each sacrificed it to buy gifts that they believed will give happiness to each other, and to show how much they love one another.

Answer:

C). Sentence Fragment.

Explanation:

A sentence fragment is described as an incomplete sentence; a phrase or clause that is punctuated and capitalized like a sentence but does not constitute a complete grammatical sentence. It is usually caused by the failure to include a subject and a verb, or as the result of beginning a sentence with a subordinate conjunction or relative pronoun.

The given is a 'sentence fragment' error as it conveys a partial meaning. It is incomplete as it begins with a subordinating conjunction('if...know') and without accomplishing a complete meaning it ends abruptly. A dependent clause must always be followed by an independent clause to accomplish its meaning but here, it is immediately followed by a dependent clause beginning with another relative clause('how...end'). Thus, option C is the correct answer.
