Islam religion spread in the regions of the Middle East. It also spread in Europe, Africa, and Asia. It was only after the discovery of America Europeans came to know its existence. America remained hidden and isolated from the rest of the world because of the oceans surrounding it and also because Europeans were not looking for a trade with Asia through seas until Vasco da Gama made his voyages. The European voyagers were Catholic Christians so, it is not possible for the spread of Islam among Mayans.
