valentinak56 [21]
Nitrogen is an essential nutrient for plant growth. But farmers who cultivate pulse crops like green gram, bengal gram, black gram, etc. do not apply nitrogenous fertilizers during cultivation because of following reason
1. Leguminous plants like green gram, bengal gram, black gram contain nitrogen fixing RHIZOBIUM  bacteria which convert nitrogen gas of air into nitrogen compounds which can be used by plants for their compounds

2. The nitrogen fixing Rhizohium bacteria live in the root nodules of leguminous plants.

What is preventing the myosin globular head from bonding to the active site of actin?
Bess [88]

Answer:

Edit

Actin is a family of globular proteins that form microfilaments, one of the three fundamental components of the cytoskeleton of the cells of eukaryotic organisms (also called eukaryotes). It can be found as a monomer in free form, called actin G, or as part of linear polymers called microfilaments or actin F, which are essential for cellular functions as important as cell mobility and contraction during cell division.

A student postulated that the sodium pump directly causes action potentials along neurons. Is this hypothesis reasonable?
Leviafan [203]

Answer:

No.this does not cause action potential.

Explanation:

Action potential is formed from the  influx of sodium ions through the special  sodiun channels call  volatage gated channels.

The influx caused deoplarisation and if upto to  the threshold level give action potential.

The  influx of sodium and out flux at the  node of  Ranvier does not lead to action potential neither does  hydrolysis of ATPs  for its active transports process.

The sodium pump is for maintenance of  electrochemical gradients with potassium for maintaining Resting Membrane Potential of the neuron.
