He also constructed many roads and canals throughout the country which made trading and travelling easier. Qin Shi Huangdi started building the Great Wall throughout the country as he wanted to protect China from invaders.

Negative

He wanted the history of China to start from the China he created so he burnt books. If the scholars didn’t bring him the books they would be executed. He burned 400 scholars alive. Qin Shi Huangdi ordered hundreds and thousands of people to the Northern part of China to start building the Great Wall. It was hard work for the slaves as at that time there weren't any mechanical machines so you had to work with the hands. They were slaves so they barely got food. The climate was cold therefore many died from this. It was very cruel as the slaves had to leave their family and possibly died to just help the Emperor build the Great Wall.
