The region in which Israel is located is the promised land for the Jews according to the sacred scriptures, for this reason the majority of the population profess the religion of Judaism.
During the history of humanity this region has been dominated by different civilizations such as:
17th century BC - Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, patriarchs of the Jewish people and bearers of faith in one God, settle in the Land of Israel. Famine forces the Israelites to emigrate to Egypt.
13th century BC - Exodus from Egypt: Moses leads the Israelites out of Egypt, followed by 40 years of wandering in the desert.
930 BC - Kingdom divided: Judah and Israel.
722-720 BC - Israel crushed by the Assyrians; 10 tribes exiled
586 BC - Judah conquered by Babylon.
332 BC - Land conquered by Alexander the Great; Hellenistic rule.
63 BC - Jerusalem captured by the Roman general Pompey.
614 AD - Persian invasion
636-1099 - Arab rule
1099-1291 - Cross Domination (Catholic Religion)
1291-1516 - Mamluk rule
1517-1917 - Ottoman rule
1918-1948 - British rule
1948 - End of the British Mandate Proclamation of the State of Israel (May 14).
