Many of the immigrants who came to North Carolina during the gold rush were single men—young or middle-aged, ambitious, and hard

working. Unaccompanied by women or children, they were able to move freely from one mining area to another. When gold was found in other southern states and then in California in 1848, many moved out of the area. The Cornish miners, however, had often moved with their families. They were known to be “skilled, superstitious, clannish,” and strongly Methodist. Unlike the single prospectors who followed the gold to California, the Yukon, and beyond, many of these Cornish miners and their families stayed in North Carolina, in the lode mining centers of Charlotte and especially Gold Hill in Rowan County.

how did how did Rosa Parks become a hero and an inspiration to people all over the nation who were looking for racial equality
Inessa05 [86]

Rosa Parks (1913-2005) performed an act of insurrection when she refused to stand up and give her bus seat, located the bus section that was supposed to be for black passengers, to a white woman after the bus driver requested her to do so because the white section of the vehicle was already full. This happened in Montgomery in 1955. She was arrested for violating the segregation laws from Alabama.

Her action and subsequent arrest triggered the start of the Montgomery Bus Boyycott, as a social protest within Civil Rights Movement that lasted from 1955 to 1956 and aimed to end segregation in US public facilities.

Which political procedures did the us government borrow from Ancient Rome
jeyben [28]
The correct answer is C.

In the Roman government, the two consuls (heads of government) were elected by citizens. In today's American society, the President, Vice-President, and all Congress people are elected by the president. This represents how the US used the idea of people voting for who is in charge from the Ancient Romans.

In order to make their children believe that every cloud has a silver lining, parents told them stories about how their ancestor
egoroff_w [7]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options attached we can say the following.

The meaning of the above sentence is that no matter how difficult the conditions are, no matter the unpleasant of the actual situation, or the size of the problem, there is always an answer if you are brave, smart, perseverant, and committed to doing the things that you need to do in order to strive and find a solution.

For that to happen you have to have faith, be patient, but always work hard no matter what. Your determination has to be stronger than any problem. That is how at the end, there is a "light at the end of the tunnel" and things start to move again, and you find solutions to everything.
