5. A pair of jeans costing
Levart [38]
So $39.50 is the price when you are paying full price, which can be represented by 100%. If you’re paying 25% less, than you are only paying 75% of the original price. Simply multiply $39.50 by 75%(expresses as 0.75) to determine the sale price. 39.50(.75)=29.62 The closest value to that is $29.50, so D is the answer.

A certain freely falling object, released from rest, requires 1.50 s to travel the last 30.0 m before it hit the ground. a.Find
Lyrx [107]
A.)
<span>s= 30m
u = ? ( initial velocity of the object )
a = 9.81 m/s^2 ( accn of free fall )
t = 1.5 s
s = ut + 1/2 at^2
\[u = \frac{ S - 1/2 a t^2 }{ t }\]
\[u = \frac{ 30 - ( 0.5 \times 9.81 \times 1.5^2) }{ 1.5 } \]
\[u = 12.6 m/s\]
</span>
b.)
<span>s = ut + 1/2 a t^2
u = 0 ,
s = 1/2 a t^2
\[s = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 } \times a \times t ^{2}\]
\[s = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 } \times 9.81 \times \left( \frac{ 12.6 }{ 9.81 } \right)^{2}\]
\[s = 8.0917...\]
\[therfore total distance = 8.0917 + 30 = 38.0917.. = 38.1 m \] </span>

Im doing decimals greatest to least and i need help with number 12 and 13
erma4kov [3.2K]

(I know there isnt any real problem here to solve, but heres a tip on how to solve greatest to least with decimal problems)

1. Just because a number looks big, doesn't mean it is big

Example: 1.00000000000001 < 1.1

just look at the numbers ^ and dont just hastily read it over assuming that 1.1 is smaller because it "has less digits"

2. Negative numbers are... opposite. and they are less than positive numbers

-3.4 > -4.1

Why is this? Well, if you look on a line, with the point 0 in the middle, you can see that -3.4 is not as far away from 0 as -4.1 is. So the idea is to apply opposite logic for negative numbers

I hope these tips helped!! :D

7.5% of what number is equal to 85% of 200?
Ksivusya [100]
Solving:

\frac{7.5}{100} *x =  \frac{85}{100} * 200

\frac{7.5x}{\diagup\!\!\!\!\!\!\!\!100} = \frac{17000}{\diagup\!\!\!\!\!\!\!\!100}
7.5x = 17000
x =  \frac{17000}{7.5}
x = 2266.6666... \:\to \boxed{\boxed{x \approx 2266.67}}\end{array}}\qquad\quad\checkmark
