Since the theme is female photographers, perhaps you could do something about gender norms? Idk, maybe take a pic of your mother doing something that is generally not considered feminine or something like that.

He tells me he was a rebel from the start because he dropped out of school twice I would understand why he had a passion for art and kept wanting to do it his whole life. He couldn't focus in school because of his passion of art.
