Gorbachev wanted to reform communism, not replace it. But, his reforms snowballed into a revolution driven from below rather than controlled form above.

If not for him, the declining Soviet Union could have probably hung on for another decade or so. It did not have to collapse so quickly, but Gorbachev’s humanitarian tinkering contributed greatly to the timing.

What were the Sedition Acts?
shepuryov [24]

Answer:

The Sedition Acts was one of the most infamous laws in American history. Signed into law in 1798, this piece of legislation gave President John Adams two controversial pieces of executive power: the ability to deport any alien the President deemed “dangerous to the peace and safety of the United States” and the restriction of “seditious” political speech. The ruling Federalist Party justified these repressive measures by claiming they were essential to combating the violent ideas spreading from Revolutionary France.

How would the U.S. government most likely have responded if gold had been found on Indian Territory in 1845?
Fantom [35]
It could be argued that the U.S. government would have responded by "<span>forcing American Indians off the land"</span> if gold had been found on Indian Territory in 1845, since forcing Natives off their land was the status quo.
