Answer:

the ordered pairs are (-1,3/4), (0,3), (1,12), and (2,48)

an exponential function looks like this:

y=ab^x

substitute the x and y values

3/4=ab^(-1)

3/4=a/b

3=ab^0

3=a*1

3=a, so b=4

y=ab^x

y=3(4^x) is the equation that you want

if x=-1, then y=3/4

if x=0, then y=3

if x=1, then y=12

if x=2, then y=3*4^2=3*16=48

Translate into an algebraic expression: 22 decreased by y%
nekit [7.7K]

We have to decrease 22 by y%.

First we need to calculate what is y% of 22. y% of 22 simply means y% into 22 i.e.

y% x 22

= 0.01(y) x 22

= 0.22y

So 0.22 y is the y% of 22. Now we have to decrease 22 by its y% which becomes:

22 - y% of 22

= 22 - 0.22y

This expression can also be written as:

22 ( 1 - 0.01y)
