the polynomial remainder theorem states that the remainder of the division of a polynomial f(x) by a linear polynomial x-r is equal to f(r). In particular, x-r is a divisor (= a factor) of f(x), if and only if f(r)=0.

first we are dividing by x - 2.

so, r = 2.

as this is a factor, the remainder must be 0.

so,

0 = f(2) = 2³ + a2² - 15×2 + b = -22 + 4a + b

22 = 4a + b

then we divide by x + 3.

so, r = -3.

and the remainder is 75.

so,

75 = f(-3) = (-3)³ + a×(-3)² - 15×-3 + b = 18 + 9a + b

57 = 9a + b

now we have 2 equations with 2 variables to solve.

and since one term (+b) is the same in both equations, we use a little trick to subtract the first from the second equation.

57 = 9a + b

- 22 = 4a + b

---------------------

35 = 5a + 0

a = 7

22 = 4×7 + b = 28 + b

-6 = b

a = 7

b = -6

The base of each triangle measures 2 centimeters and the perimeter of each triangle is 10 centimeters. What is the approximate t
tia_tia [17]
Since the triangles make up a spinner, the triangles are isosceles.
The base is 2 cm and the perimeter is 10 cm.
The measure of the two legs can be determined from
2 + 2x = 10
Where is the length of the leg
Solving for x
x = 4
The area an isosceles is calculated using
A =  \frac{1}{2}  b^{2}   \sqrt{ \frac{ b^{2} }{ x^{2} }- \frac{1}{4}  }
where b is the length of the base
Substitute the values and multiply with the number of triangles in the spinner

A tent in the shape of a triangular prism is made using the following piece of fabric. Find the surface area of the fabric. Show
storchak [24]

Answer:

Surface area = 85.84 ft²

Step-by-step explanation:

Considering the fact that large rectangle  area = 6 x 12 = 72 ft²

Also, the two triangles area => 2(0.5 * base * height) = 2(4 x 3.46 x 0.5) = 13.84 ft²

Hence, the total surface area is

72 + 13.84 = 85.84 ft²

Therefore, the surface area of the fabric is 85.84ft²
