Number 2 would be no correlation because the two variables don’t affect each other.

2. no correlation (one time being higher doesn’t mean the other will have to be lower)
3. negative, (as temperature goes up your heating bill will go down)
4. no correlation (pillows will not effect you bed height)
8. no correlation (the cost of the gas isn’t going to change how much gas your car holds)

Hey there!!

How do we find inverses?

In versing is the just the flip-flop of the x and y.

Given equation :

...f(x) = √(2x-6)

... y = √(2x-6)

... x = √(2y-6)

Square on both sides

... x² = 2y-6

... x² + 6 = 2y

... x² + 6 / 2 = y

Inverse :

f(x) = ( x² + 6 ) / 2

( ii ) f(x) = ( x - 2 )³ + 8

... y = ( x - 2 )³ + 8

... x = ( y - 2 )³ + 8

... x - 8 = ( y - 2 )³

... cube root on both sides

... ∛( x - 8 ) = y - 2

... ∛(x - 8 ) + 2 = y

Inverse :

f(x) = ∛( x - 8 ) + 2

Hope my answer helps!!

You earn $9.50 per hour at your summer job. Write and solve an inequality to find the number of hours you need to work to buy a
masha68 [24]
Let
h
represent hours worked.
Now, we know the pay for one hour of work is
$
9.50
. So, the amount of pay for
h
hours worked is given by
9.50
h
.
Furthermore, since we're saving for a camera that costs
$
247
,
we want at LEAST
$
247
(but it's okay if we have more). So, we'll be using
≥
in the inequality.
So, our inequality is
9.50
h
≥
247

To solve, we simply divide both sides by
9.50
:
h
≥
247
9.50

h
≥
26

You need to work at least
26
hours to buy the digital

A shipping box has to have specific dimensions to hold an item. The volume must be 7500 cubic inches. The length must be 5 times
Gennadij [26K]

The dimension of the box is 50in by 10in by 15in

How to calculate the volume of a figure

The volume of an object is the quantity of substance it contains.

The formula for calculating the volume of the box is expressed as:

V = lwh

where:

 • l is the length
 • w is the width
 • h is the height

Given the following parameters

length = 5w
height = w + 5

Substiute

7500 = 5w(w)(w+5)
7500 = 5w²(w+5)
1500 = w³+5w²
w³+5w² - 1500 = 0

Factorize to determine the width

On factorizing, the width of the box is 10 inches

Recall that:

l = 5w
l = 5(10)

l = 50inches

Get the height

h = w + 5
h = 10 + 5
h = 15inches

Hence the dimension of the box is 50in by 10in by 15in
