d = total distance of the trip. We know that 345 miles is only 3/5 of the trip. Due to the fact that we know this, we can do some simple math to find the total distance. 345/3 = 115

115 * 5 = 575

This means we are looking for the equation which gives us d = 575.

Lets solve each problem:

A) 3/5 / d = 345. This would give us d = .0017. Which is way too small to be the total distance.

B) 3/5 * d = 345. This would give us d = 575. Seems like our answer, but lets keep trying the other ones.

C) 345 * d = 3/5. d = .0017, this is not right.

D) 345 / d = 5/3. This is d = 207, which is also wrong.

So our answer should be B. \frac{3}{5} *d=345

I hope this helps! :)

Round off 1,246,193 to the nearest thousands
Vlad1618 [11]

Answer:

1,246,193 rounded to the nearest thousands is 1,246,000

Because the digit next to the thousands place (The hundreds place) is less that 5, it is 1 therefore you keep the digit the same in the thousands place and make the rest a 0.

One side of a right triangle is 8 cm shorter than the hypotenuse and 7 cm shorter than the third side. Find the lengths of the s
Reptile [31]

Answer:

5 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the shorter side be a, longer side be b, hypotenuse be c

By Pythagorean theorem:

a² + b² = c²

a² + (a + 7)² = (a + 8)²

a² + a² + 14a + 49 = a² + 16a + 64

a² - 2a - 15 = 0

a² + 3a - 5a - 15 = 0

a(a + 3) - 5(a + 3) = 0

(a + 3)(a - 5) = 0

a = -3 or a = 5

Because a is a side length and is a positive number

a = 5

zheka24 [161]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

When A and B are brought together then they repel i.e. A and B have same charge, either negative or positive

When B and C are brought together then they also repel. This implies that nature of charge on  B and C is same
