The Czar’s autocratic policies toward the people led to social unrest because the people, especially the "common folk" or peasants were granted practically no rights and there was no democratic process--meaning that they became upset when they were unable to further their lives either socially or economically.

It had a huge affect on women. women's main job was to make and repair clothing but this all changed because of the revolution. Many farmers were forced off of their own land and move from the rural region to the urban center looking for work. This all caused what was once a traditional role for woman to the clothing now being made by factories because of this, woman had no choice but to look for jobs in Mills and mines. They also had to work now to help support their families at a very low wage
