Read this example.
user100 [1]

Answer:

Jordan’s topic is acceptable, but it is not in the correct format.

Explanation:

Jordan's task is to write a narrative essay about a significant experience with a family member that has shaped his identity. A narrative essay is an essay written in the form of a story, often about a personal experience. While Jordan chose an acceptable topic (Andre is his cousin, which means that he is a member of Jordan's family, and he significantly influenced him), the format he chose is wrong. A letter isn't an example of a narrative essay, which is why Jordan should use a different format.

What are some really good quotes for "characterization" in the short story
V125BC [204]

Indirect Characterization

"Rainsford sprang up and moved quickly to the rail." "When he opened his eyes he knew from the position of the sun that it was late in the afternoon." "He examined the ground closely and found what he had hoped to find--the print of hunting boots."

For all of the sentences above, Rainsford can be defined as nimble (quick), intelligent, and knowledgeable. His quick movement to the rail illustrates his nimbleness, while his knowledge of the position of the sun illustrates his intelligence. His expectations that he will find bootprints show his knowledge about hunting or tracking.

Direct Characterization

"The first thing Rainsford's eyes discerned was the largest man Rainsford had ever seen--a gigantic creature, solidly made and black bearded to the waist." "Ivan is an incredibly strong fellow," remarked the general, "but he has the misfortune to be deaf and dumb. A simple fellow, but, I'm afraid, like all his race, a bit of a savage."

Here, the reader has no question about Ivan. He is a huge, muscular man with a very long black beard. Zaroff openly describes him as strong, deaf (unable to hear), and dumb (mute--unable to speak).

Which of the details below might an author use to develop the setting of a short story based on a medieval war? A. The names of
Pie
The correct answer is C. The defenses of a castle

Helicopters and factories didn't exist in medieval times, while extinct animals from the period would be unknown to most of the readers since not everyone knows biology, while everyone associates the medieval lifestyle with castles.
