An old man lived in the village. He was one of the most unfortunate people in the world. The whole village was tired of him; he was always gloomy, he constantly complained and was always in a bad mood.

The longer he lived, the more bile he was becoming and the more poisonous were his words. People avoided him, because his misfortune became contagious. It was even unnatural and insulting to be happy next to him.

He created the feeling of unhappiness in others.

But one day, when he turned eighty years old, an incredible thing happened. Instantly everyone started hearing the rumour: The whole village gathered together. The old man was asked:

Villager: What happened to you?

“Nothing special. Eighty years I’ve been chasing happiness, and it was useless. And then I decided to live without happiness and just enjoy life. That’s why I’m happy now.” – An Old Man

Moral of the story:

Don’t chase happiness. Enjoy your life.

Your friend has a history of poor eating habits. Write a friendly persuasive letter encouraging him/ her to eat healthier
Irina18 [472]

Answer:

Hey, I know that eating makes you feel better because it is a comfortable space and you feel safe but maybe you should try eating healthier. It will still be eating so you will still feel alright and better but this way when you eat you get in better shape, grow stronger, look prettier, and then when you walk out into the world all eyes will be on you, and how fabulous you look. I know it's hard and a lot to ask but please try to eat healthier even if it's just a little bit. That will help you more than you think.

Explanation:

Try this. Not my best work but it still works.

Select the correctly punctuated item.
pentagon [3]
The correct answer is D. After "items," you want to insert a colon, then go on to list your items. colons set off a list. semicolons, as in choice A, are used to connect two independent clauses--that is, two complete thoughts--and join them into a single sentence if their subject matter is related. semicolons aren't used to set off a list in this way because "milk, bread, and eggs" is not a complete thought. choice B is incorrect because list items do not need to be contained in parentheses. choice C is incorrect because it's unclear; "items" is followed by a comma, but you need to use commas for your list items as well. a reader could mistake "items" as a part of the list, when the list only consists of foods.
