Answer:

(-5, -8)

Step-by-step explanation:

- 9x + 5y = 5 \\  - 5x + 5y =  - 15

- 9x + 5y = 5 \\ 5x - 5y = 15

- 4x = 20

- x = 5

x =  - 5

-5( - 5) + 5y =  - 15

25 + 5y =  - 15

5y = -40

y = -8

First, we merge the questions, to do that we simplify both of them to get a positive side.

To do that, we can first mutliply both sides of the second equation by -1.

Due to that, we get the equations

-9x+5y=5

5x-5y=15

If we add up the equations, we get -4x = 20

We can simplify and get x=-5

To get y, we can first input x into the second equation:

5(-5)-5y=15

-25-5y=15

Simplify and we get -8.

Therefore we have (-5,-8)

Plot the points in the coordinate plane. Then find the perimeter and area of the polygon.
anyanavicka [17]

Answer:

The answer to your question is below

Step-by-step explanation:

See the graph below

Process

1.- Find the distance from A to B, B to C, C to D, A to D

Formula

d = \sqrt{(x2 - x1)^{2} + (y2 - y1)^{2}}

d AB = \sqrt{(1 + 3)^{2} + (6 - 5)^{2}}  = \sqrt{17}

dBC = \sqrt{(-2 -6)^{2} + (3 - 1)^{2}}  = \sqrt{68}

dCD = \sqrt{(-1 - 3)^{2} + (-3 +2)^{2}}  = \sqrt{17}

dAD = \sqrt{(-1 + 3)^{2} + (-3 - 5)^{2}}  = \sqrt{68}

2.- Find the perimeter

Perimeter = 2\sqrt{17} + 2\sqrt{68} = 6\sqrt{17} u

3.- Find the area

Area = \sqrt{17} x \sqrt{68}

Area = \sqrt{17x68} = \sqrt{1156} = 34 u^{2}

Determine the range of the following graph
Ierofanga [76]

Given:

The graph of a function is given.

To find:

The range of the graph.

Solution:

We know that, the domain is the set of input values and range is the set of output values.

In a graph, domain is represented by the x-axis and range is represented by the y-axis.

From the given graph it is clear that there is an open circle at (-8,-8) and a closed circle at (3,4). It means the function is not defined at (-8,-8) but defined for (3,4).

The graph of the function is defined over the interval -8. So, the domain is (-8,3].

The values of the function lie in the interval -8. So, the range is (-8,4].

Therefore, the range of the function are all real values over the interval (-8,4].

Note that WXYZ has vertices W(-1, 2), X(-5, 7), y(-1, -2), and Z (3, -7).
svp [43]

a. Slope of WZ = -2.25; Slope of WX = 5

b. WZ = √97; WX = √41

c. WXYZ is not a <em>rectangle, rhombus, nor a square</em>. We can conclude that: <em>D. WXYZ is none of these</em>.

<h3>Slope of a Segment</h3>

Slope = change in y/change in x

Given:

W(-1, 2), X(-5, 7), Y(-1, -2), and Z (3, -7)

a. Slope of WZ and slope of WX:

Slope of WZ = (-7 - 2)/(3 -(-1)) = -2.25

Slope of WX = (7 - 2)/(-1 -(-1)) = 5

b. Use distance formula, d = \sqrt{(x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2}, to find WZ and WX:

WZ = \sqrt{(3 - (-1))^2 + (-7 - 2)^2}\\\\\mathbf{WZ = \sqrt{97} }

WX = \sqrt{(-5 -(-1))^2 + (7 - 2)^2}\\\\\mathbf{WX = \sqrt{41} }

c. The quadrilateral WXYZ have adjacent sides that are not perpendicular to each other and have different slopes and different lengths, so therefore, WXYZ is not a rectangle, rhombus, nor a square. We can conclude that: <em>D. WXYZ is none of these</em>.
