Answer:

Explanation:

Kate swiftly turned her head to see who the voice had come from. She had hoped to see Mr Jack but in his stead she saw the Warren's son, Jax. Oh no. Would he oust her out to the warren for escaping or would he leave her be? He was around the same age as her, he had a tall, lean body, coal black hair and golden eyes that flickered with arrogance and mischief. He was very handsome. That very thought made her blush. Kate immediately redirected her thoughts elsewhere, refusing to delve any deeper into the topic. Suddenly she remembered something.  She had heard many rumors about him, but the rumor with most relevance was that he was one of the Risen. She blurted out loud. " Is it really true you are one of the Risen?"

He smirked at her . " You never answered my question. Where do you think you're going?" He asked tauntingly.  His voice sparked something in Kate. It sparked............ pure annoyance. She gave him a dirty look then walked away without a second glance. At least he couldn't reach her here, right? WRONG. She felt a tug at her arm. She whirled around and swung a punch, expecting to see a plague walker, but to her surprise it was Jax . "How ? How did you make it past the force field?"

He smugly replied " You already know the answer to that." Kate's eyes widened in astonishment. So the rumors were true. He really was one of the Risen. She felt a pang of jealousy. How was it fair that this ignorant guy was a Risen whilst she and 95% of the population remained as Grounded. How was it fair that guys like him could wander freely whilst she was limited To the power of the force field? Was anything in this world fair? No. She had to deal with it, as she could do nothing about it.  She glared at him and shook his touch off her arm, " Don't touch me."  He laughed loudly. It was a pleasant sound, but there was something off about it in the middle of the silent forest. It was too silent. His laughing stopped emptying and suddenly his tone went serious. " You won't last a day out here."

"Really what makes you think that?" Kate replied with dark amusement.

Jax's face darkened. "I tried it before. I tried to make it to the other world, but there's creatures out there that you could never imagine , ruthless, merciless and  soo deadly, that plague walkers will be the least of your concerns."

An inhumane screech came from deep in the woods. screaming "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE " Kate ran into the forest towards the screaming, something lured her there. She felt obliged to answer the screams for help. She had to help.

Jax looked around him. One minute she had been there the next she was gone. There she was. He ran after her shouting, " Kate come back you idiot, you're going to die. Kate did not stop running, he ran after her. He couldn't let her die. No matter what.

Kate stopped in her tracks. The screaming was unbearable and then she saw it, what was this horrible creature. she tried to hide and hold her breath, but the creature now looked at her directly in the eye. It chanted in tongues whist staring at her but did not move. "PLEASE, PLEASE , PLEASE!" Kate turned to the source of the screams and saw a little girl lying in a pool of blood sobbing over an over "please, please.." She reached out to the little girl wanting to comfort her, to reassure her.    "Stop don't get any nearer!" Jax voice echoed urgently. " You'll get hurt, the monster will attack you."

Kate looked at Jax desperately " I wanna help her. Look at her, she needs help."   The bloody girl's focus went to Jax and her shrieks pierced the air even more hectically. "PLEASE ,PLEASE, DON'T LEAVE ME. " As Jax looked at the bloody girl his face paled. " Rosy?" He whispered. Kate saw a strange look on Jax's face one of pain, suffering, denial, guilt and betrayal.

The bloody girl dragged herself towards Jax with her bare hands" PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME.... JAX! "

"I already have a long time ago." Jax's face was cold as he turned away and left.

Kate was outraged. She had millions of questions, but how could he be so uncaring? " Jax come back. We need to help her."

Jax answered coldly " No we don't,"

" Because she's not real..."
