They are usually used to equally emphasize the main clauses. There are 7 of them: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so and to use it correctly you can follow some rules:

1) They <u>always</u> connect phrases, words and clauses;

2) You can use them in the beginning of the sentence if:

  • you ensure the conjunction is immediately followed by the main cause;
  • to make the writing more effective;
  • don't use comma after the coordinating conjunction;

Therefore, the sentences above combined could be:
