How many types of nucleotides are in dna, and how do they differ?
mr_godi [17]
There are 4 nucleotides. Guanine (G), Cytosine (C), Thymine (G) and Adenine (A).
C and T are called pyrimidines, and are longer than G and A.
G and C connect using 3 hydrogen bonds, but A and T bond using only 2.

Which of the following is a characteristic of outer planets?
nexus9112 [7]

The following characteristic of the outer planets is C. Have rings.

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune have rings. Although Jupiter looks like it doesn't have it, it is still part of the outer planets.

The outer planets are not close to the sun that is the inner planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars). They have a lot of moons, more than the inner planets. And lastly they don't have rocky surfaces in fact they're surface is clouds and gas.

Hope this helped :)

Describe the hygiene hypothesis and the role that eosinophils play in it. Why does having a parasitic worm help us
Ilya [14]

In medicine, the hygiene hypothesis states that early childhood exposure to particular microorganisms (such as the gut flora and helminth parasites) protects against allergic diseases by contributing to the development of the immune system.

What is the role of eosinophils in hygiene hypothesis ?

Eosinophils are multifunctional granulocytes that contribute to initiation and modulation of inflammation.

 • Eosinophils are extremely versatile effector cells that damage tissues or modulate the activity of other immune and stromal cells.

Why does having a parasitic worm help us ?

This is because parasitic worms have evolved strategies to block parts of the human immune system.

 • These parts of the immune system, namely the eosinophils and IgE antibodies, are also the main players in allergies, IBD, and many other inflammatory diseases
