How do the game makers ensure that they maintain power throughout the games? Use at least two details from the novel to support
Juli2301 [7.4K]
One example is when the game makers control where the Career pack meet up with Katniss. They do this by creating a fire that will cause Katniss to run where the game makers want her to go. At Katniss wanted to get as far away from the career pack as she could, but the games makers wanted something different This can be seen in the second page of chapter 13.
I can’t think of another example, but I hope this helps.

Excerpt from “The Raven”
Rufina [12.5K]

Answer:

C. “But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping, / And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door,”

&

C. The rhyme gives the poem an even rhythm and maintains the tension.

Explanation:

1. None of the other options give as much tension as these lines do. The anticipation and reptition of the lines intensify the action of approaching a chamber door.

2. I feel as though the other options don't quite work as well as this one. A rhyme doesnt necessarily make a poem easier to remember, lines that are more 'significant' is just subjective, and each rhyme doesnt necessarily end an idea.

Compare and contrast assertiveness, arrogance and passivity.
olya-2409 [2.1K]
Assertiveness is someone who is behaving confidently and is not frightened to say what they want. Assertive just means that you make things happen. You take action rather than the opposite, which would be 'passive'. That would mean you just sit by and let things happen to you, instead of making them happen for yourself. Being assertive is a good thing.

Arrogance is an attitude of superiority manifested in an overbearing manner or in presumptuous claims or assumptions.

Passivity is allowing others to do things to you without complaining or pushing back. The babysitter's passivity led her charges to walk all over her. They stayed up all night and tied her to the chair, and all she said was, "Please stop misbehaving." or something like that.
