The European Union lets the citizens of the countries in the EU have freedom and human dignity, which is more than most countries have to offer to their citizens. The EU is a surprisingly good method of maintaining peace in the European countries, or, at least for the ones in the EU, such as Belgium, Germany, Greece, or Italy. In the south people grew things like cotton, sweet potatoes, tobacco, and sugar, while in the west they grew things like apples trees, wheat, and raised herds.
In the west they build small, compact log cabins, while in the east there were factories, larger brick buildings, and marinas for traded good from other countries.
That is how growth differed in the east cities and the west.
