One of the core arguments from 1787 about the United States and its levels of government is still alive and well today. How shou

ld the power to govern be divided between the Federal and State levels of government? Think about the roles played by the government in your life, and in the United States. What level of government should provide what services (and why)?
What would it have been like in 1787 when the Constitution was being ratified? What services did the citizens of a brand new United States require and what level of government should have provided them?

Compare 1787 to today. How are the country and world different, and what impact does that have on the level of government providing services?
