Answer:

I think Stacey feels angry that T. J. comes to him for help after he has been so cruel. I have had friends act mean all of a sudden, and it would be hard for me if they came to me for help without first apologizing for their actions.

Answer:

In "Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, " by Mildred D. Taylor, Stacey probably feels upset that T. J. comes to him for help after he has been so cruel. In fact, T. J. is responsible for making Stacey accused of cheating at school. However, after T. J. is beaten up by R. W. and Melvin, he looks for the Logans for help and Stacey takes him home, even though T. J. never really apologizes for his actions.

Charra [1.4K]

Answer:

It shows Jig’s strong desire to end the topic of conversation.

Explanation:

According to the line from “Hills Like White Elephants”, the narrator quotes the words of Jig where he impassionately asks that the conversation between him and someone else ends.

Therefore, the use of repetition "please" most reveals that Jig has a strong desire to end the topic of conversation.

which writer did Thomas Love Peacock base the character of Scythrop Glowry in his Gothic parody Nightmare Abbey?
N76 [4]
The character of Mr. Flosky is apparently based on the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. In fact all the characters are mouthpieces for Peacock's wit and satire. The main one, Scythrop, is based on Peacock's friend, the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, and is more a case of Peacock humorously poking fun than a bitter parody.
