They tell you that it unlocks an ability to think more efficiently and can bring clarity to the mind. Journaling also serves as a coping method. It's a way to either relax or stimulate some neurons and allows you to focus your attention better and calm your anxiety.

it can help you learn your weak points whether it be punctuation, grammar, run on sentences, weak wording, ability to grab a readers attention, etc. for me writting helped me with all of that and more. you can even discover a love for writting that you may not have known about.
