Answer:

Fragments are incomplete sentences. Usually, fragments are pieces of sentences that have become disconnected from the main clause. One of the easiest ways to correct them is to remove the period between the fragment and the main clause. Other kinds of punctuation may be needed for the newly combined sentence.

Match each excerpt to the method used to convey the characters' traits. speech thoughts effect on others actions looks Aaron oft
Assoli18 [71]

Answer and Explanation:

1. Aaron often finds himself thinking he would like to see more of the world. He feels like the town he lives in is too small for his imagination. = Thoughts. The narrator is telling us about the way Aaron feels as well as about what he thinks. There are no actions or descriptions involved in this method.

2. As Martha went toward them, the boys all ran scared, hoping not to be caught. = Effect on others. We know the boys are afraid of Martha. She is chasing them, but it is not clear if it is a game they are playing. Anyhow, she has an effect over them, which is making them scared.

3. Nelly always says, "I would rather play baseball than play with dolls." = Speech. We get to know about Nelly's preferences through her own words. She is the one saying she'd rather play baseball, not the narrator.

4. Roger had to shop in the men's department even when he was a child. Boys' sizes don't fit him. But his size is what makes him an excellent football player. = Looks. The narrator is talking about Roger's appearance - his size, more specifically. Even though the narrator is not precise, we can imagine Roger is a big guy, since football players have to be so.

5. Shelly feeds stray animals on her way to school every day. She also volunteers at the local animal shelter every weekend. = Actions. The narrator is telling us about things that Shelly does. From those actions, we can easily infer she is kindhearted.

Which two sentences maintain the verb voice; that is, they do not shift from one voice to another? *TWO CHOICES*
IRINA_888 [86]

Answer:

2. Thea wanted to visit Greece, so she bought a plane ticket.

3. Jeff felt bored, so he read an interesting science fiction novel.

Explanation:

Both sentences use their verbs in the active voice: wanted, bought (in the second sentence) and felt, read (in the third one). So these two sentences maintain the verb voice.

The first and the last sentences shift from the active voice to the passive voice: craved, was baked (first sentence) and loved, was practiced (last sentence).

Anyway, I went on walking home, thinking about the movie, and then suddenly wishing I had some company. Greasers can't walk alon
musickatia [10]
a long walk home and no company, but I usually lone it anyway, for no reason except that I like to watch movies undisturbed so I can get into them and live them with the actors. When I see a movie with someone it’s kind of uncomfortable, like having someone read your book over your shoulder. I’m different that way. I mean, my second-oldest brother, Soda, who is sixteen-going-on-seventeen, never cracks a book at all, and my oldest brother, Darrel, who we call Darry, works too long and hard to be interested in a story or drawing a picture, so I’m not like them. And nobody in our gang digs movies and books the way I do. For a while there, I thought I was the only person in the world that did. So I loned it.

Yo whoever can do this for me I can be ever so gracefull
andrey2020 [161]

Explanation:

I would love to go to Bucharest, Romania for my summer holiday. This is because I have been yearning to go there for ages and that my parents were always too busy to take me there. I learnt about this place through travel magazines, as well as travel shows. They feature the grandeur of the scenery in Bucharest; the buildings, their old towns that tells the story about their past and more! With snow-capped mountains, green hills covered in forests and vineyards, sandy Black Sea beaches and Europe's largest and best-preserved delta, Romania has something for everyone. Romania is full of architectural treasures. In particular, Bucharest offers an unusual and sometimes uneasy mix of styles that combines the charming and almost organic shapes of 19th century architecture with the rigid lines of the Stalinist architecture.Romanian cuisine is built around hearty, high calorie dishes designed to be the ultimate comfort food. With a strong focus on taste and quality of ingredients, it will win you over with its unfussy, unmistakably homemade feel.

These are the reasons that I want to visit Bucharest, Romania, I really hope I would have the chance one day!
