The Christian traditions established by the Western Roman Empire continued to thrive in the East.

Explanation:

The insignia shows the effect of the Roman empire on the Christian belief system. This is shown by the general signage of the cross, and of course, the image in the cross - the holy mother Mary. However, the christian traditions established by the Western nations continued to thrive in the east. This was partly due to the movements of the explorers and missionaries. These people brought the religion as taught by the Roman empire. Thus, the eastern side came to embrace the religion.
