Answer: The other two values are 3 and 4. This is because it is the only value which fits the formula a^2 + b^2 = c^2 (which will be 5^2 in our case). Also 3,4, and 5 is a well known right angle side length.

a+b+5=12

a+b=7⇒a=7−b...(1)

a2+b2=52

a2+b2=25...(2)

From (1)  and (2)

(7−b)2+b2=25

49+b2−14b+b2=25

2b2−14b+24=0

b2−7b+12=0

(b−4)(b−3)=0

⇒b=4,3

a=7−b⇒a=3,4

Area=21×4×3=6sq. units

Please help!!! It's about the types of quantities if they are proportional or not if there is a constant number.

1. Yes, because y=kx. “Y” is equal to 4 × “x”, on every problem. y=4x
2. No, because on the first set of numbers 3 and 15 the equation is Y=5x. Then on the second set of numbers 4 and 17 the equation is Y=4.25x.
3. Yes, because Y=1.5x.

Subtract. Write your answer in simplest form. 5^3/4 - 2^11/12
Sav [38]
Here, As the exponent and base both are different, we can't simply it by using any mathematical rule, so we have to convert them into decimal then comparing with options.

So, <span>5^3/4 + 2^11/12

= 3.34 - 1.88

= 1.46

Which is most precise to </span><span>2^7/12 </span><span>= 1.49

In short, Your Answer would be: Option D

Hope this helps!</span>

Answer:

y = - 2x - 4

Step-by-step explanation:

the equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

calculate m using the slope formula

m = \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}  }{x_{2}-x_{1}  }

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (- 2, 0) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (0, - 4) ← 2 points on the line

m = \frac{-4-0}{0-(-2)} = \frac{-4}{0+2} = \frac{-4}{2} = - 2

the line crosses the y- axis at (0, - 4 ) ⇒ c = - 4

y = - 2x - 4 ← equation of line

Masada sold his radio to Agouti at sh 63,000 making a loss of 10%.
Viefleur [7K]

Given:

Selling price of radio for Masada = 63,000

Loss = 10%

To find:

The amount of money Masada paid for the radio?

Solution:

Let x be the amount of money Masada paid for the radio.

According to the question,

x-10\%\text{ of }x=63000

x-\dfrac{10}{100}x=63000

x-0.1x=63000

0.9x=63000

Divide both sides by 0.9.

x=\dfrac{63000}{0.9}

x=70000

Therefore, Masada paid 70,000 for the radio.

a swim meet has 13 contestants . the first heat has 6 simmers . how many different ways can the contestants be arranged in the f
yawa3891 [41]
Answer: 1, 235, 520 different arrangements
Explanation: Since we want to arrange them, we care about the order in which they come in.
Let's firstly think about it in a diagrammatic way before diving into the permutations side of things.

We have 13 swimmers, let's name them from 1 to 13. Now, we want to arrange six of them in a line (hypothetically).

Thus, we can arrange the first six people:

1 2 3 4 5 6
1 2 3 4 6 5
1 2 3 6 5 4
1 2 3 6 4 5
...

In fact, we have 6! ways in arranging six objects into six places, which is 720 different ways.

Now, let's think about it in a bigger spectrum. If we have 13 people and we want to arrange them in 13 blocks, we would have 13! ways in arranging them:

Different permutations:
Ways in arranging 13 people into 13 different lanes is given by: 13!
Now, we want to restrict that into 6 blocks, so we can only have 6 people in it
So, we would have (13 - 6)! ways in arranging them into 6 blocks.

So, our final number of arrangements is: \frac{13!}{(13 - 6)!} = 1 235 520 ways.

This is also the formula for the Permutation function represented by: ^{n}P_r, where n is the number of objects (13) and r is the number of positions (6).
