The gradient or Slope in a linear equation is simply the value "a" in this equation : y = ax + b

And the y-intercept is simply the value b.

so for example, what is the slope of y = 5x + 3 ? What is the y-intercept ? Well the gradient (or slope) is 5, and the y-intercept is 3.

So, for a.

y = -1/2x + 8

it's pretty simple : gradient = -1/2

y intercept = 8

Now for c.

y=\frac{2x-6}{3}

y=\frac{2}{3}x-\frac{6}{3}

y=\frac{2}{3}x-2

So the gradient is 2/3 and the y intercept is -2 (and not +2, be careful there is a negative sign :) )

e.

-2x + 6y - 3 = 0

6y = 2x + 3

y = (2/6)*x + (3/6)

y = (1/3)*x + (1/2)

so the gradient is 1/3

and the y-intercept is 1/2

Good luck, your the best :)

Step-by-step explanation:

if you are given an equation of a form y=kx+b, k is gradient and b is y-intercept

in c you can write this equation as y=(2x/3)-2,so gradient = 2/3 and y-intercept =-2

in e:6y=2x+3

y=x/3+1/2,gradient = 1/3, y-intercept=1/2

True or false: equilateral triangles can be classified as acute right or obtuse
Ne4ueva [31]
False, since all sides are equal all angles must be equal and when you have an obtuse or right triangle only on angle is obtuse or right. since one is different it cannot be equal on all sides making this statement false

What is the value of x in 145.95-2x=-4.05?
kotykmax [81]
145.95 - 2x = -4.05
subtract -145.95 from both side of the equation
-2x = -4.05 - 145.95
-2x = -150
Divide both sides by -2
-2x/2 = -150/2

x = 75
Final answer

Hope this helps!!!!

A car is driving at 65 kilometers per hour. How far, in meters, does it travel in 5 seconds?
garri49 [273]

Answer:

90 m

Step-by-step explanation:

65 km = 65000m

1 hour = 3600 secs

speed in meters = 65000/3600

= 18 m / sec

Distance traveled in 5 secs = 18*5

= 90 m

In a weekly lottery, ten ping-pong balls numbered 0 to 9 are placed in each of six containers, and one ping-pong ball is drawn f
sukhopar [10]
He will have a 1/531,441 chance of winning next week.

There are 10 balls in each container; for 6 containers, this gives us 10^6 = 1,000,000.  There is 1 correct combination of balls, so his chance the first week is 1/1,000,000.

The second week, 1 ball is removed from each container; this will give us 9^6 = 531,441 chances.  There is 1 correct combination, so he will have a 1/531,441 chance of winning.
