The Prohibition Period, however, proved to be a failed experiment in American history. The black market has risen sharply, and certain criminal groups have profited greatly.      The Bonus Army was a group of 43,000 demonstrators Led by Walter W. Waters, comprising of about  of 17,000 veterans of the United States in World War I and other affiliated groups who protested in the US capitol in 1932 to demand money  redemption for their services during WW1.

     The demonstrators were tagged the "Bonus Expeditionary Force" (B.E.F.), which throws more light  to World War I's American Expeditionary Forces. However the media called them the Bonus Army or Bonus Marchers.
