What causes the downfall of the White family, and how is it related to the theme of "The Monkey's Paw"?
GrogVix [38]

Answer:

The Whites' downfall comes as the result of wishing for more than what they actually needed. ... White feels content with his life—he has a happy family, a comfortable home, and plenty of love—he nevertheless uses the monkey's paw to wish for money that he doesn't really need.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay book:
sladkih [1.3K]

Answer: A) allusion

Explanation: It can't be foreshadowing as anyone who read the series already knew what kind of leader Coriolanus Snow was. It also can't be or B) because the definition of personification is the attribution of a human characteristics to something nonhuman. Now it could be C) but the author uses symbolism a lot in the Hunger Games series, for example the white roses and the Mockingjay as well as the Mockingjay pin, and comparing the character Coriolanus Snow stemming from Shakespeare's play Coriolanus doesn't seem like how she writes symbolism but I could be wrong. The definition of allusion is an expression designed to call something to mind without mentioning it explicitly or an indirect or passing reference and that sounds like what the author is going for with having Coriolanus Snow based off of Shakespeare's play Coriolanus.

vagabundo [1.1K]

Answer:

Hi! There are many great poems are there but one I recommend is the "Still I Rise", By Maya Angelou. It is very well-known and popular.

Explanation:

For some reason, it would not let me copy & paste the poem so search "Still I Rise" By Maya Angelou and the poem should be there :)

For image(s) that stands out or "repeats" in this poem, you can put how the stanza lines: "I Rise" are being the most repeated throughout the poem. It stands out by giving an impact or main message that the author or readers might relate to. For imagery, think or reflect on how this poem feels to you. Does it make you feel confident? Bitter? Strong? Brave? Powerful? Give out reasons why it makes you feel like this. If you like, I believe there are some images or some sort of cartoon or paintings of this poem. You can describe it and what it makes you feel or what it looks like. Hope this helps!
