The story questions the superiority of man over animal. Zaroff and Rainsford's opinion towards each other is in animal-prey framework which they view each other in this context. Zaroff becomes bored of preying for the animals and instead of that he captures humans. The struggle of captured people makes Zaroff joyful and he makes Rainsford to join the challenge. After joining the game the latter becomes much dangerous version of Zaroff. The morality and the ethics of story at this point is put into question. The correct answer is the third option -  Zaroff views Rainsford's moral stance as misguided and uninformed.
