Eudora Welty was an American writer who focused on short stories of the "American South" or southern states. Her first work was "Death of a Traveling Salesman.", which was published in 1936. Her works received numerous praise which led her to win the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Order of the South. Her house in Jackson, Mississippi has been designated as a National Historic Landmark.
